Zehn Electrical understands electrical work needs to be considered at the earliest stages of a project and we will assist you in the electrical design process for your construction or renovation work. There are all sorts of control panels and power points that you may need in your home including heating and cooling, lighting, and home security.
It’s a good idea to decide early what kind of technology you intend to use in your home so you know exactly what control panels and outlets you will have. Zehn Electrical can assist you with deciding on the least obtrusive positioning of all electrical points and panels and will do a thorough walk through with you on-site.
- Cables are run throughout the building to all power points, switches, light fittings and appliances. The building may also be wired for phone services, intercom, computer cabling, home theatre and home security systems.
- We review working drawings to understand the location of all installations and to review the manufacturers’ specifications for all appliances to ensure they are connected to suitable wiring.
Zehn Electrical works effectively with other trades to find solutions to ensure everything is laid out logically.
Once the plaster work is complete, all power outlets, light switch locations and down-lights are cut out, allowing for the tilers and painters to complete their work.
Once work such as painting, tiling and carpentry is complete the electrical “fit-off” stage can commence.
All power outlets, light switches and light fittings, appliances and smoke detectors are installed. The switchboard, safety switches and circuit breakers are also fit out.
Possibly the most crucial stage in an electricians’ work, the testing stage tests and energises the installation to verify all installations are safe and compliant with the Australian Standard AS/NZS 3000.
All construction wiring, including switchboards and wiring within transportable structures, must be inspected, tested and certified by a licensed electrician before connection to the mains supply and whenever alteration, additions or repairs are carried out.
